Foodlums Minutes 4-18-08

Progressive Film Festival is this week in Hibbard 100.
We are hosting:
-Black Gold-- w/ free equal exchange coffee (mon. night at 8)
-Price of Sugar-- w/ honey from our honey bears (thur. night at 8)
-King Corn-- w/ free popcorn (fri. night at 8)

Speaking of honey, Zac is hosting baking lessons-- to bake french boule with honey!
-Wed. April 23rd at 10pm at zac's house. 1316 Jefferson Ct

Earth Day celebration at Pheonix park is next weekend!
-We will be selling composted cow manure, kitchen compost collecters, cookbooks, foodlums t-shirts, biodegradable cups for water (that we will have), and some other drinks that are not yet finalized.

Garden Party on April 20th
- Sunday (20th) people will begin w/ bagging compost at 10am and continue w/ starting seeds and setting up the cold frames at 12.
- People who come at 10 for bagging will find the bags for the compost under the tarp that's covering the other bags of compost
- Corey and Zac are taking care of the straw bales for the cold frames

Chair-person Wiley report
-Wed. the 23rd we should all organize on campus mall to hand out seeds. Just stop in and there will be seeds

Zac stuff
-Anyone interested in having a share of a plot in the Demler park community garden this summer should talk to Zac

Reflections on the local food week
-making the week an annual event?
-possibly moving it to fall semester when there are more foods in season and more people interested in joining an organization
